As everyone in the Apple world is aware Apple is holding its big annual WWDC event next week, starting on Monday, June 6th. There have been articles in the usual Mac blogs and magazines for weeks now speculating what hardware might be announced, and what new features there will be in iOS and macOS.
I’ve purposely been avoiding any writing or podcasts containing WWDC speculation. Perhaps you ask why?
I Want to Be Surprised
First, I like watching Apple Events not knowing what might be announced. I want to be pleasantly surprised and amazed by Apple’s announcements! I think it takes a lot of the fun out of watching an event when I may already know some of the significant features or hardware to be announced.
I Don’t Like Being Disappointed
The second reason I don’t read WWDC speculation is that I find that predictions about features or hardware is often wrong. When they are, then there’s a sense of letdown and disappointment when it’s not announced. I’d rather just go into an event not knowing, then I can’t be disappointed over something that was never fact in the first place.
